Miguel Torres has seen some of the best wines in Spain pass through his hands and has a quest for excellence in all things, so when he released a white, many expected the red to follow. Everyone waited. And waited. The dedication to quality was so high that all of the original experiments were abandoned and no product came forth. It took Torres years to get the red right and is a testament to the unerring focus and commitment to standards. This Grenache Shiraz is the same red wine as its previous namesake Natureo Syrah.
Ben's Tasting Notes
Dark cherry in colour with hints of raspberry, strawberry, cranberries and green apples.
Ben's Food Pairing
Gamey bird dishes such duck, turkey or other game birds. Could also pair nicely with oregano pesto with tomato pasta.
This is smooth, fresh and has a dry finish. A lovely and surprisingly convincing wine.
Serve at 17 - 18 deg C.
